They really think that we wouldn’t manage without the English protecting us and telling us what to do.
Sorry DD it IS ****ing her ! She has wasted so much time since 2014 mandate after mandate after mandate wasted, Brexit was a huge game changer did she move then did she **** !! The Scottish public were ready even our English incomers 400,000 approx were ready, We will never get Independence under her and her husband, I appreciate the reasons the majority voted No in 2014 a combination of badly presented fiscal case a huge project fear campaign waged and sorry to say the so called "White settlers " made the difference. But its different now Independence is there for the taking but one person and one only is ****ing that up Sturgeon !!!

    It's not true.

Scots are cowards, that's the main reason.

White settlers yes, possibly more the Poles voting No because of the threat of being thrown out of the EU.

I would say Sturgeon's main job has been to delay a further referendum because she knows she would lose it.

Give up on Scotland min, it's not happening, we're subservient.

Is anyone really surprised they said no? I think it was always meant to be the outcome, but in doing this they have probably added to support for the movement as it highlights that we are nothing more than a branch office of Westminster.

I ken there are a few on few on here, not just the usual Tory trolls, who hate her, but I think she is playing it right.

The most important part is winning the vote when it comes and it will come. Brexit was the point where people realised how big a con the union is and this decision today will make it even more so.

Brexit was a huge game changer but what was she supposed to do then? It was too soon after the Indy ref 1. She had the unenviable task of trying to get the timing of the second vote absolutely spot on.

Hypothetically if there had been no Indy ref 1 then brexit happened I reckon the indy YES vote would have sailed through not too long after.

Aye but it was a dream when we were born and wil remain a dream long after we're gone.
I doubt our great grandchildren will see us a republic.

If you'd told me that in 1974 I'd have thought you were mad.

Well for a start she should have in 2016 done what she did in 2022 get clarity from the English court. There was a general election in 2017 that would have been the De facto election, Instead she has phucked about wasting 6 years only to be where we are right now ! She has played the WM game the whole time and allowed herself to be bullied and dictated to , Scotland should have been on a strong front footing post Brexit, She blew it big time, IMO Gender politics is far higher up her priorities than Independence

I get your frustration and betrayal and for sure it is almost enough to throw the towel in, But we canna we just canna. A New Scotland is within touching distance but I firmly believe to progress Sturgeon has to go !

I actually agree that "legislative clarity" should have been sought after the Brexit sh1t show (bearing in mind the capital made by Project Fear on the question of EU membership).
I think Sturgeon is committed to playing the long game and I'm sure today's (inevitable) result has been factored in.
