Thanks for the concern, mac and Swale in particular. Much appreciated.
Fortunately, for me, rumours of my demise were exaggerated.
Three or four weeks ago I just decided that the forum was no longer a good place to be. Andy is partially correct in his account of what went on between us but is, as ever, very selective with his version of the truth.
I disagree entirely with the fact that he saw fit to close down a thread which was creating nothing in the way of animosity. That is not, imo, his role, but it was what followed between us - which I’m not going to go into now - along with the sheer petty vindictiveness from a couple of other posters, who actually have very little to do with Derby, that tipped the balance.
Tbh I’ve found life without the forum to be perfectly fine and although I’ve thoroughly enjoyed conversing with the likes of mac, Swale, MA, Sith and Ramshank, my absence has simply reinforced how much time I waste in fruitless debate with others who all too often resort to foolish personal comments.
I recognise that some do not like the more political threads but actually they are rather more important to all of us than their ‘replacement’...a thread about Derby’s Christmas lights. I mean...Really?
Anyway...I’m perfectly fine - thanks for asking - and I’ll continue to converse, albeit probably more occasionally, with those who remain civil while avoiding those who are less trustworthy and incapable of decent cohesive argument.
