    Borehamwood rearranged

Our Vanarama National League home match against Boreham Wood has been rearranged for Tuesday 10 January (kick-off 7.45pm).

Should both clubs be knocked out of the Isuzu FA Trophy on 17 December, however, we have agreed to play the match on Saturday 14 January - when fourth-round Trophy matches are scheduled to be played.

We were due to host the Wood on Saturday 7 January but they will now be in Emirates FA Cup action on that day.

A clear strategy from us to pile rearranged games into the next few weeks where Wrexham have a tough run of fixtures and are in FA Cup action as well. Already put the Barnet game in and moved the Aldershot game from near the end of the season Got to do the job and win them, but I really like the thinking behind it. Between now and the Trophy second round on 14th Jan, the fixtures for both are:

    Notts:

    Maidenhead (A)
    Gateshead (H)
    Barnet (H)
    Oldham (H)
    Oldham (A)
    Aldershot (A)
    Boreham Wood (H)

    Wrexham:

    Eastleigh (A)
    Chesterfield (H)
    Solihull (H)
    Solihull (A)

Three extra fixtures and, on paper, all seven look like more ‘winnable’ games than any of their four. Big chance to try and build up a lead and put some psychological pressure on them for the games in hand that will come.

Breaks up the 4 game run of away games too, with Chesterfield and Solihull to follow.

I know that being Notts fans we have a default setting of hope for the best, expect the worst but it does feel a bit different this season, almost as if the planets are somehow aligned in our favour. That said we'll probably make hard work of this opportunity just to bring us all back down to earth

We could be a few points clear come January, that would be a massive statement going into the last few months

The disappointing thing for me is the 4 home games are Tuesday, Tuesday, Monday & Tuesday.
Hopefully we both get knocked out of the FA trophy and can play the last one on a Saturday.

Am I missing something here? Florest play Leicester on the 14th January 3pm kick off so I can't see that being an option..

A Notts game at home, on my birthday, and when I'm in Nottingham on that very day? Brilliant. Of course, now we're sure to lose.
