    We repeated the feat at home to Rochdale when Terry Dolan was in charge at Spotland Road. I have an Asbach induced brain fog at present and if no-one else has intervened I will supply the details on my return from Germany at the weekend.

    1989/90 0-1 24 jan . but no details other than to say you're right about the 9 men BT

    It was actually on 20 January 1990 and Peter Ward (midfielder) scored their goal in the 40th minute. In the 55th minutes Steve O'Shaughnessy was dismissed and he was followed by Willie Burns in the 70th minute. The referee was Terry Lunt, who was a Master Butcher by profession and the crowd was 8174 of which I was one.

    I stand corrected SS, I misread the line, it was the 24th match of the season but on the 20th as you say.

    I cannot imagine what irate fans might have called Mr Lunt, the 'b@stard in the black' maybe ?
