    Antibiotics?

Anyone having trouble getting them at the moment?

Try not to laugh but I have a UTI infection and I’m carrying around my right b o l l o c k in a wheelbarrow in front of me at the moment!😩

Luckily my one daughter had some left over antibiotics that I was able to access immediately I felt the first twinges of pain......like having needles stuck through your scrotum directly into your affected nut!

This meant I was able to self treat over the weekend until the GP could test a pee sample on Monday.

I did get prescribed with more of the same antibiotics as I’d used over the weekend which was a relief.

With the present shortage of antibiotics I’d certainly recommend that if anyone in your family has any that they don’t take the full course of that they hold onto them.

I won’t use the full two week supply I’ve been given and it’s comforting to know that should I or someone close need them in a hurry that there’s easy access to them.

By the way, I do always read up about what they are to be used for and side effects etc, I don’t just take them randomly.

My daughter’s excess supply has now saved me twice in three months.

Sorry to hear about that Mick. Put plenty of WD40 on that wheel. A couple of springs and some shock absorbers wouldn’t go amiss either!

I can never understand why people don't take the full course of antibiotics prescribed to them.
MRSA came about because of such practice and other resistant strains. Finish the course always is best practice.

My daughter has them for an ongoing issue Dubs so she always has a few more than needed.

For my own problem I’ve been given two weeks supply when in reality a week clears me up.

Mick - the antibiotic you need for a UTI is not the same as for Strep A, so you're unlikely to encounter any problems here. If the doc gives you 2 weeks worth then take them for the entire duration as it might just prevent a recurrence.

Not sure where Strep A comes into this WCV?

I’ve got UTI issues and the Doxycycline that my daughter lent me ( it’s to treat a skin condition for her ) is the same Doxycycline 100mg tablets my doc has now supplied to me for my UTI.

A neighbours grandchildren have tonsillitis, they took them to the doctor's but no anti biotics are available.
Hard to believe we live in the world's fifth richest country isn't it?
I can see working families going to food banks next, and the energy companies who announce record profits every spring threatening us with power cuts.
    Oh, hang on..
