I think Stewart genuinely believes what he says, as a successful business leader,but not really an experienced footy man. Wishful thinking from him. A dream.

Always taken it with a pinch of salt myself. Never held it against him, good to have dreams. But footy is a very different ball game to most business. In fairness to him though, he recognised leadership talent in Warne and that brought many great years. Personally don't care what he says his ambitions for the club are, he can dream big all he wants, as long as he keeps an eye on the balance sheet and keeps us from begging buckets again.

Many “ top guys” have weaknesses but they compensate by hiring assistants to provide the missing expertise. TS hasn’t really done this

Same applied to Paul Warne, who instead of taking on coaches with different ideas he picked support staff that were very much like himself.

So you get a sort of staleness with nobody rocking the boat by suggesting something new

Actions speak louder than words. MT deserves the same and,in my view,he will get the same. He was offered a 3 1/2 year contract which should be respected and hasn't signed 1 player yet whilst at the club.

He hasn't signed anyone because the window to sign hasn't been open. 'Providing' Stewart gives Taylor the money to bring in these loan players are even enough to sign Brown from Exeter, only then will we see what Taylor is capable of.

That's true Brin but now MT is talking about free agents and they are exempt from the transfer window. I think we had at least one empty squad slot to accommodate a free agent but didn't want to do it.

But if Tony hired assistants to provide expertise, you'd be the first to deride his for having 'a committee'! Not sure he, or any managers can really win unless they win at all times.

I think Warne made sensible decisions with his management team. Can’t fault his logic he needed people he trusted after the fiasco before him.

Can't compete financially with most clubs in the championship, turnover is nowhere near high enough.
Won't compete because TS has had his fingers burnt in the past.
Decent fees required for Barlaser - Middlesbrough, Ogbene - Swansea, Rathbone - Stoke or any other decent offers.
Move a few out on loan and bring at least four championship standard players in.
Easy when you put it like that - it's not going to happen, prepare to be disappointed and underwhelmed.

Here we go again the PWlove website. He left us, and he wiped out our entire coaching staff in one day, so let us remember how he left rather than where we were when he left. MT didn't do that at Exeter he showed the club some respect, so who is the good person there then? I am not anti-pw he did a great job in League 1 and gave the club it's best ever season, a cup and a promotion. However he failed at championship level 3 times 2 of those times with squads he built, we can all see that a lot of his closed season signings aren't good enough, so would he have kept us up this year, we will never know. Rotherham are not a club that signs players that the manager doesn't want or approve, so all the players signed by PW were his, some great signings and some donkeys, which is what you would expect, the skill is to get more of the former. MT deserves time and support from the board, we recruited an up and coming manager with no championship experience not jurgen Klopp, unfortunately that means he has to learn on the job, you priests of PW were happy for him to do that so give MT the same support you gave PW. I remember being sat at Blackpool in PW first full season losing 1-0 with 2 mins left, listening to chants of Warne out and rumours he was going to be sacked if we lost, then Ball scored twice and we went on a run made it to the playoffs. The PW journey was exciting with ups and downs, give MT a chance please.

Don't want any free agents academy players. Also no were good players. Don't want players who need a pre-season weeks before they are up to speed. Scotty put that in your search for players should stop us having a window as bad as last one.
