    Meanwhile the top 73 railway executives have enjoyed inflation busting pay rises for years and now are paid over £15m per year combined (based on figures from 2021 so this will be much more now). Current industrial unrest aside, remember that the railway fat-cats have been lining their pockets whilst passenger fares have sky-rocketed and the standard of day to day services has steadily declined.

    It makes me laugh how folk bang on about how much more railworkers are paid than nurses or care workers. Care-workers are typically paid minimum wage and many have to rely on foodbanks or welfare state help to survive....but let's talk about dragging the rest of the country down to their level rather than look at ways to improve the standard of living and quality of life of the vast majority.

    Arguing amongst ourselves just lets the real parasites and spongers carry on with ripping the rest of us off.

    Nurses wages come from taxpayers, rail workers wages come from rail users paying exorbitant fares.

    Cheaper rail fares in Europe because they're not paying drivers £60,000 a year.
