Oh, Boothy was a player, nae doubt, and came back from his Euro travels mair accomplished.

I seem to recall chat that his perennial injury issues were down to one leg being shorter than the other.

In either Holland or Germany they made him specially adapted boots to combat this.

Nae idea if that's true or urban myth, but if true, we must've jettisoned the platform boot when he came back.

That would have been around the time of nae money and the toaster being taken away so would have been no money for specialist boots for Boothy.

My abiding moment of those times were Dundee fans waving cash at us, as that was when they were supposedly rich.
    A surreal time footballing wise.

Signing Shinnie as a midfielder, if that’s the case, raises the spectre of the McInnes end of days when we had a team stuffed full of midfielders. Particularly with the other signing too.

Was kind of hoping he’d play left back, but that’s probably just a pipe dream. If he did, and McCrorie played RB, we’d be on our way to strengthening the defence considerably. But if not, that’s a lot of wages with no steps yet to improve our glaring weakness.

All that said, wherever he plays, Shinnie’s drive and character will be a welcome addition.

Well, he COULD play Left Back, and allow Coulson to push forward into midfield wide leftish.

    I suppose.

But I just have this image of Shinnie rampaging around the middle of the park, upending folk, and pointing & oedering about the rest of both teams ?!!

"Graeme Shinnie says he has returned to Aberdeen a better player after playing alongside and then under Wayne Rooney at Derby County."

West Brom, Reading and QPR Guaranteed a starting place ? Unlikely. Aberdeen is the only place to be for this youngster.
