It’s a shame he’s gone back, was very different to our other midfielders. Hopefully Frankie V can step up.

Be interesting what happens, don’t doubt he has bounds of energy and gets around the pitch but I thought he lacked composure at times, hopefully the loan spell has brought him on.

I hope Castro doesn't sign for Chesterfield, Wrexham or Woking. There was something about him that made him a bit special.
A potential matchwinner. He didn't get enough game time for us to really judge. The club did make him an offer to stay.

As for Vincent, I am going to take a lot of convincing. True, he was full of enthusiasm and ran around a lot but always seemed a bit too lightweight for me. Maybe the regular games he's had will have toughened him up (20 games 1 goal). The Aldershot site makes no mention of wanting to extend his contract.

This. According to the BBC website he leaves having scored 1 goal for every 97mins he played for us. I'd have kept him for his goals alone.

Having said this I don't think LW should feel he has to play anyone just to keep them happy.

Castro and Frank Vincent are different types of player, but I'm more than happy to have Frank back. He's probably benefited from regular football at Aldershot. I hope he offers everything he did before, with the benefit of a bit more experience too.

Good luck to him. One of our better loans IMHO.

I thought Frank did as well as we could have hoped for and always gave 100%, would have him back if Notts didn’t want him.

A couple of other posts to the effect that his enthusiasm rubs off on other players, which is what I noticed most about Frank in (most of) his previous appearances for us. Alan Judge had a similar infectious style, albeit Judge was obviously a more developed player.

It will be interesting to see where Castro's career goes from here. He showed some promising moments in his time with us, but never enough to suggest he was anything more than a useful option from the bench. Good luck to him, but I can't see him as a big loss.

I like the fact he has gone back as it shows the way the squad is being run. Yes he might score a few goals and be a good talent but its clear that the way Williams is managing the squad is to make no guarantees to anyone and I think he would have expected to be in the first team which would probably have caused issues. So best he goes back. Bye and thanks for the memories I am sure there are plenty of young loan stats who want to play for Notts and earn their keep. If he doesn't want to fight for his place then see you wouldn't want to be you.
