Going forward with all our attacking players fit we should frighten all the defences of the bottom 10 teams, but defensively we are basically sh it! we need to sort it out at the back - every time the opposition ventures forward we look like panicing or just chasing the man with the ball all over the bloody pitch, We dont have a single defender who can make a clean tackle - they all just back off and try to block the inevitable shots coming in, they all panic on the ball in our area, or we try to dribble it out of our area when under pressure all so bloody needless!
Jesse must have a complete blind spot when it comes to defending - we now have Bamford, Rodrigo, Gelhardt, Sommerville, Gnonto, Harrison, Arronsen, Sinisterra, and now Rutter up front, not to mention the under 21's, We only have Adams, Roca, Forshaw and Greenwood in midfield - maybe include Gyabi, but its the defence that is ridiculously light
Cooper, Ayling, Llorrente, Koch, Kirstensen, Firpo - Now Wober and Drameh - basically not even ONE cdecent back four from that lot.

we need recruits for the defence!!
Been a deficiency for the last season and a half, we all knew that so I presume that the powers that be at LS11 did too, and (as usual) did f00k all about it. We have what we have, and as you point out, defense is a weakness, so we exploit what we have, and again you're right, we have the players to rip a defence apart, we just need to use them correctly. Win 5-2 every match, happy days.

Hey mate, we need a player in there to boss the defence, a leader. We seem to look at one another to do what? We need a older head type player to anchor them.

Yes, I would. He doesn't miss "sitters", only those where he is surrounded by defenders and STILL gets the ball in the net, and if he was supported by others (as we have now, the likes of Gnonto, Rodrigo etc) there wouldn't be any "misses".

Please don't suggest Cooper!!!!!! Struijk would be better, despite his youth. He sees the game well, has the physical presence to make a difference and as long as he's not expected to compensate for Firpo and others going walkabout can do a very much better job than our "elder statesman"

Struijk could grow into that role and Wober might be that person

As for Jessy, still not convinced, it was a result that came from players being played in positions they were comfortable with, that for sure is different from lost of previous games, but can we do the same against PL opposition? Sunday will tell.
No problem at all WTF. But as described by yer mate Tichi in another post there, the whole emphasis is on scoring more than the other team, we are spoilt for choice with attacking, but when we don’t/can’t score, then we have a problem. Cos we can’t defend to save our lives. And as for our corners??

Yes. Someone who reads the game, puts himself about and that’s his position game in game out. Then he can pull the defensive strings, *******ings when needed.
    No not cooper.

😃 I will leave to others decide if they have seen him miss "sitters" or not.....

No, not really. A striker in a forty game league that’s plays 5 -10 is worthless. We don’t pick a more durable striker end up in a relegation battle. Bam puff is an appropriate name for such. I’ll take a little less talent for more durability
