Thread: Thank you Islay

Might it also be something to do with Dee4Life appointing a new Communications Director thereby depriving you of contacting DFC direct?

No surprises there really. Toys out the pram and resignation letter in.
Asking about a pitch inspection or what's happening with bird **** on seats doesn't seem pointless.

At least he had something to offer, plenty of people in the same role and zero to contribute.

The appointment of a new Dee4life Communications Director was discussed with a person lined up at the Dee4life board of directors meeting on Monday 16th January 2023 which was 4 days before I submitted my resignation as a Dee4life director with immediate effect.

In my email to Greg Fenton on Friday 13th January 2023 I also put forward a simple solution to help avoid the seats in the Main Stand, Bobby Cox Stand and Bob Shankly Stand being covered in seagull droppings as a result of watching the Raith Rovers v Dundee game on BBC Scotland on Friday 6th January 2023.

Can you actually read? If so can you tell me where I said those were the specific points that I was referring to?

    What did you suggest?

    That is simple.
The unused seats in both the stand used by Raith Rovers supporters and the stand used by Dundee supporters were sitting in the upright position which means there is less area on the seats for bird droppings to land on.
I suggested in my email to Greg Fenton that an announcement could be made at half time and full time asking spectators in all the stands apart from the South Enclosure Stand asking them to leave their seats in the upright position.
I further added that the club could ask for volunteers to remain after the end of each home game to ensure that all the seats in these stands are put in the upright position.
With the attendances we are currently getting at Dens Park it should not take too long after the end of each game to put the remaining seats that spectators have not put in upright position, back in the upright position.

But these seats are weighted and default to the upright position when unoccupied. The main problem is in The South Enclosure where the seats are of the bucket type and don't default to upright.

If that is the case then how come the area of the seat people sit on including the part next to their back in the Main Stand had seagull droppings on them.
It is getting to stage that Dundee supporters sitting in the Main Stand will have to put their old clothes on.
You will note in my post that I never mentioned the seats in the South Enclosure Stand as they are not tip up seats.

I can read. Since Islays own posts referred to the emails he was writing most normal people would understand that these were included in your sweepingly pointless jibe at a guy who had recently resigned from his position.

The good thing about Islay is that he was never John Nelms lackey and happy to stand up for whatever he thought was right. You don't need to agree with him to be respectful of that.

As usual though you had to have a kick at him.

You come across as a bit sad and jealous of the man and his willingness to stand up and be counted.

I say well done Islay, expecting better standards for Dundee fans in sharp contrast to some peoples total fecklessness.
