It would be an option in games where the breakthrough isn't coming, Yeovil, Boreham Wood type games where we just need to unsettle well drilled defences with a bit of physicality.
Or work more to our strengths, like the goal against Wrexham. Play corners and free kicks more along the ground than hoof it into the area. As LW has already said there's a less chance of retaining the ball if you hoof it in.

We don't ever look threatening however we take corners, and to say how many we get In a game it's a pish poor return

We certainly don't , near post has failed miserably on the games I've seen, short corners not much better.

However with 70 goals in just 28 games it is masked well and very hard to be too critical.

It is, we're doing fantastically well in what's turning out to be a statistical freak of a season. Nothing wrong with a bit of variation though, I wouldn't say Haaland has stopped Man City playing football and Wootton was a good footballer, not just a lump. I think a player like him is a useful player to have in any squad.

A different style to Charlie Slater as you say and has that familiarity of Uncle Colin. For me he should get the job full time at the end of the season if Charlie Slater is moving onto other things.
I agree I think it's a generational thing, I personally don't like DB's commentary, he has a nasally tone which irritates, he talks over Stall, and generally he soundsl like the old man he clearly is and should stick to his cricket. There is no banter between him and Stall like there is with Charlie, who he clearly gets on well with. As it is evident that Slater is moving on to bigger things, I prefer the younger bloke who was on a couple of weeks ago (can't remember his name)

The person that would be most missed is Mark Stallard. He's a gem. Totally enjoyable listening to him.

I saw an interview a while ago where he basically said he was happy to be co-commentator for as long as he was asked to do so, because he enjoys it and it fits in well enough with his main job (in finance I think). He's a true Notts legend, so I can't think of anyone better.

"Get in!" has already become iconic!

My mate Stall, best ex player / commentator we've ever had.

    Get in!
