Yeah, he catches the player, because that player is late going into the challenge. Edwards clearly kicks the ball, and that in itself means his foot will follow through. His foot is not high, it’s a natural movement from his momentum kicking the ball (physics). If others think that this is a red card, then the game is totally fecked!
Looking at challenges like this I usually think what would I be saying if it were the other way round. That challenge against one of our players I would be howling for a red card all day long and I reckon most complaining about the sending off today would do the same if they were honest with themselves.

Niskanen a strange one, he might not be the greatest player, but he puts in a shift, and there have been games when we have been flagging and you wonder why we haven't stuck him on to give us fresh legs and take the ball for a run, never got a look in, i'm sure we would have punted him in the window if we could have, then from sudeenly back involved in the team. Then you have some subs on the bench you look at and think they won't get put on regardless, would be as well out on loan, so maybe given how light our squad is we should have recalled some of our young loan players instead. I'm not entirely sure what thought process is these days.

Zero. Zero chance that is a red card. Halliday in no position to play the ball, puts himself in danger. Edwards makes a good tackle. In complete control. That decision is utter nonsense and demonstrates a broken system where officials have no understanding of the game. Anyone who has played football knows that is a perfectly fair challenge.

To see the farce of VAR, you simply have to look at the two recent games against Hearts. Look at two challenges. No penalty or red card for one. Red card for the other. VAR is supposed to improve consistency. It has simply shown up officials to be clueless. Absolute nonsense.

How much, against one team, has this inconsistency cost us? Arguably 5 points.

As I've said before, VAR in itself isn't the issue. It's the amateur referees that are causing all the problems. I think it's actually a good thing that VAR has brought this to the forefront now. It needs addressed.

Today is the first time this season we've gone onto lose after taking the lead

What's even more baffling is that today's decision comes after they overturned Nicky Clark's red card. It's like they don't want to learn or get it right

It's never a red card, the angles and replays amd speeds they show it though gives the ref a different impression, when you see the normal replay on alba, it's not a red, then you see the random speeds and perspective the ref sees on var and even though still not a red it doesn't help

I'm baffled, unless I'm blind he gets full ball (no contact with anything else) so brilliant tackle. One of the ones that gets a roar from the fans. I do not see anything wrong with that. The gemmes up the poley.

Like the Watt incident against Motherwell the referee has a clear, unobstructed view of it from about 4 yards away when it happened too.

You can see the stud marks on the guys bare shin, he defo 'connects' after winning the ball first. It is a booking, for letting the player know he is in a game.

I doubt VERY much if we would see a red for that at Celtic park or Ibrox if a home team player did the same thing.
