Said to my non plussed and vaguely interested daughter at the start that not playing Hall or Wood to go up against Carroll was a worry and that proved horribly to be the case. In both cases, he needed a big experienced lad to read his basic move and at least put him off but didn't have the players to do that against him and it cost us.

But even then had the gear chance to kill them off before half time and looked the better team up to their changes. Gutted but not surprising. Think some have been over optimistic as a result of our transfer window. I think we have strengthened well and done good business but we are still always will be a huge fight to stay up. Much will depend on whether Chio can rediscover his form and whether Hall can keep fit alongside Humphreys to command the back line. Very disappointing to say the least but how much money have they spent in the likes of Carroll, Ince etc. Didn't look that big a difference on the pitch to be fair to us.

Good point about Hall. For me if he is fit he plays, best championship level central defender at the club, why drop him after two clean sheets? I assume Kioso is injured as he is perfect for the bench, especially if you want pace down the right to cover when they put on two fast wide players. MT said after the Luton game that he was a key player for us and losing him is a huge blow, no Lindsay makes no sense either. I thought the bench was poor it lacked balance and seems that Wright is the main man as he took the armband when Ollie went off, hope we don’t fall for the must play the new lads all the time approach.
