    Burnley VS Watford Player Ratings

    Muric 0
    Roberts 7
    Ekdal 8
    Beyer 9
    Maatsen 5
    Cullen 8
    Brownhill 6
    Gudmundsson 8
    Tella 6
    Zaroury 6
    Barnes 9

    Al Dakhil 7
    Peacock-Farrell 6
    Foster 5
    Twine 6
    Obefemi 6

Thought Barnes was amazing last night and it is one of the best I have seen Gudmonsen play. The centre back quality we have is unbelievable. Not sure what was wrong with Muric, every pass seemed to be off and that mistake for the goal wasn't too good but every one has an off day/night I suppose.

Did well to get a draw, even when we have an off day we are still miles better than the opposition.

    Muric 3 - Head's gone.
Roberts 7 - World Cup performer and it shows.
Ekdal 8 - Great reader of the game.
Beyer 7 - Injured! Oh! Heck.
Maatsen 5 - very poor last night but he has enough credit in the bank.
Cullen 9 - just a consistently solid player.
Brownhill 6 - off it last night.
Gudmundsson 8 - back to his old best.
Tella 5 - off it last night.
Zaroury 5 - another one who should have stayed in bed.
Barnes 9 - the old war horse rattles on.

    Al-Dakhil 7 - accomplished and rock solid.
    Peacock-Farrell 6 - won us a point.
Foster 5 - missed from a yard out.
    Twine 6 - needs a start.
Obafemi 6 - scored from a yard out off his shin.

We were just plain leggy - lethargic and three gears lower than we usually are at .

JBG for me anyway was the weak link centrally they bullied us and whilst he’s good technically he offers nothing when we lose possession against big strong boys.

Cullen for me was magnificent never stops asking and offering for the ball when the rest of the midfield were away with the fairies, Brownhill had a very poor game by our standards. Even Maatsen had a stinker which is saying something as his standards are very high.

The keeper didn’t have a good game but I think it was highlighted because the players couldn’t trap a bag of sand , where usually we kill the ball dead and move it before the opposition are on us , I thought at first he was caught in two minds about handling the ball outside the area but there was plenty of time and it was just a bad decision, where he looked frightened to death in all honesty.

We were lucky to draw at the end but deserved something I think based on pure effort , they weren’t a very good side being honest we just made them look good.

On your point about JBG army88, post-match Bilic was having a moan about Burnley's "physicality." Talk about the kettle calling the pot Sooty Arse!

Bilic said on Sky afterwards that Burnley's physicality did for them in the end, he said they just kept on coming, I assumed he meant that we were just too fit for them, still running after 90 odd minutes, while they were legless.

I think he meant we matched them in the "Dirty B@stards" league mon ami.

Barnes and Brownhill certainly take no prisoners.

When he said it at this point, he was referring specifically as to why they had conceded a late equaliser. It seemed to me that by physicality he meant fitness. But no manager will admit the opposition is fitter, so he used another word. It always amused me in the PL that managers and journos often described us as a big, rough, hard team, it was nonsense, we were lightweight, probably the smallest team in the league, we only had two players who could have been even remotely described as 'big'.

Definitley agree with your view sinkov, and our size was always going to become a problem, or so I thought earlier in the season when I said that we were too lightweight. However, as has been seen in every game we have played, out fitness is spot on and we just keep going for the full game, as was shown on Tuesday. A word too for VK who uses his subs well and keeps the pressure on the opposition. I heard Bilic's views and thought that he was using a veiled reference to our fitness, rather than size. It's all about opinions though, however, we are definitely not a big side.

In recent TV interviews both Cork & Brownhill have alluded to their determination to win the ball back and are instructed by VK to be aggressive in doing so.

What is fair to say is we are nobody's mugs or pushovers and will not be bullied out of a game. VK says be, "Good on the ball, aggressive off the ball", where have I heard that before?
