Collymore has a long standing grudge against Notts because he never got over being turned down by us when he had a trial here when Mick Walker was youth/reserves coach, Walker described Collymore's conduct as a disgrace. He was a guest on Radio Nottingham once whilst we were playing a match and he said he hoped we'd lose in a manner that was quite nasty and bitter, not jokey or in a rival-banter way. I'm sure a lot of us here remember him making a point of celebrating in front of us in the away end over the river.

That said, I hope Southend pull through. Decent crowds down there with a FL history going back to 1920. most of it as a 3rd tier outfit but they had 7 seasons in tier 2.

I was in with their fans in Nov for the 2-2. Unbelievable atmosphere and general buzz around the ground. They definitely deserve to be a FL side based on that

You don't get to be a league team because you make noise, you get to be where you are based on on field performance

That goes without saying and why I added 'based on that'

Still a silly comparison, it's like me saying I should be an F1 driver because of how clean my car is...

The Southend fans probably didn't hear it on Radio Red, but Luke Williams offered a full and genuine apology over the Bridge situation. He said he was caught a bit off guard by the question directly after the Yeovil game, wishes he had handled it differently and fully accepted the criticism that came his way. Honest and classy.

    ps 4-0, up yours Collymore!

Ironically, it was being honest that got him into trouble. He obviously felt that denying something that was indeed true and already in the public domain would be dishonest and slightly pointless, which to be fair it is, but the moral of the story is that football is full of bullsh*tters and you stand out if you're not.

To be honest, what I saw if him Tuesday night I wasn't impressed. We've already got better players

Indeed - on tonight's showing he looked as useful as Truss.
