The one that responded to you thinks that a comment by me was aimed at them.

I'll let everyone into a secret it wasn't, it was aimed at another persona - sorry poster.

The idea of the poor pensioner is well in the past. Pensioners are generally better off than young people with families and many young people without families.

I was looking forward to Mrs Youself who is also a Dundee City Councillor continuing her court case to the bitter end.
Her name isn't Mrs Yousaf, it's Nadia El-Nakla.

I thought it was going from stone island to Fred Perry.

As Deeranged has said a few times the concept of OAP is so out dated imho.

There are poor pensioners as there are poor single parents, working adults and those with young families......but poverty to me is a completely different thing entirely.

I don't think pensioners hog the poor bracket as they once did.

Noticed a concession was almost 2/3rds the price of an adult tic at Morton....a bit more like it but gap should continue to narrow.

It was half price at accies

Some would say none of these are benefits but I reckon they are.

Do all kids oaps and disabled folk need free travel......I'd suggest not

Do all oaps need the heating allowance......a fair number do, a big percentage don't.

Do disabled folk need free parking as well as priority parking......I'd suggest no.

When folk talk about benefits they are mainly talking about JSA and universal credit.

I'd suggest methadone was a benefit......most people would suggest it's health care.

Their is a culture in Scotland of state dependency ( well sucking at the teet of the state) but that seems to have spread to the rest of the UK as well.

I think those on zero benefits are now in the vast minority ( I'm not one of them ) and I just don't think this is sustainable in the long term without taxing the working more and more.

Real unpalatable things like wealth taxes or OAPs paying NICs or more severe inheritance tax.

I like the philosophy of keeping more of you're own hard earned rather than giving more away and getting a portion back.

To be fair I think the idea of helping those with young children is good but I also think it breeds fecklessness.

Read something in the paper at the weekend that 25% of under 25s will inherit more than theyl earn in their lifetime......an absolutely jaw dropping stat for me.
Free bus travel for over sixties is an entitlement not a benefit - or it is now that I qualify for it. Previously it was a scandal. I don't need free bus travel but I'll take it same as I'll take anything anyone ever gives me for free. And I'll use it before someone with an actual clue takes it away from me.

Not only do I not agree that drug addiction should be considered a disability I'm disgusted that it's actually even considered a disease. In my demented universe, where everything is seen down the line for what it is and dead straight on, it's a lifestyle choice. In most cases nobody forces an addict to take that first hit, they consciously choose to take it.

Please note I said 'in most cases', obviously there are exceptions that prove every rule.

That’s her maiden name which she uses for professional purposes.
Ms Jenni Minto who is the SNP MSP for Argyll and Bute uses her maiden name for professional purposes as she is also Mrs Jenni Wilson.
We also have Nicola Sturgeon who is Mrs Nicola Murrell.

You will change your tune when you become old enough to qualify for all these ‘perks’.
A number of years ago my wife’s GP told my wife to use her age to her advantage.
