Every clubs forum in the land holds the WTF school of thoughts & they've opinionated to same logical solutions of blame.

Half the PL clubs have debts & half of them could go down this season so I ain't no large lady but I ain't gonna sing 'we're down' yet either.

    Summary of Gracia time at Watford;

Since the Pozzo era started in 2012 Watford have appointed 11 new coaches.

Javi Gracia’s 20 months in charge have been the longest & most successful of those reigns. The 11th-place finish he delivered was the club’s highest in the P L & best in the top division since coming ninth in 1986-87 under Graham Taylor— a position only bettered when they were runners-up to Liverpool four years earlier. Only Taylor & Gracia have led Watford to an FA Cup final.

Gracia stated “As a head coach you always have to know that you have to take the opportunity & make the most out of the players & you have to be able to adapt. In my opinion, this is the most important characteristic you have to have when you move to a new club because maybe the way you work in Watford doesn’t work in other English clubs, you know, or Spanish clubs. You have to know before arriving what that club or that team needs to achieve good results."

Well, it sure sounds better than the 'Red Bull' method which is based around the essential stats of the middle thirds being the most for goal involvements (hence the playing narrow philosophy) cemented with the ideology that a larger percentage of goals must be from fewer than 4 passes approach as in JM's headless running around like chickens approach more like.

I do wish you would read what I write instead of jumping to incorrect conclusions simply in order to get to the keyboard and respond.

I mentioned three managerial "candidates", and "characterised" their candidacy, Gracia being the chap who has been fired three times in recent year's, Redknapp who in his 70's I would suggest qualifies as the geriatric, and Allardyce, the lying fat lump.

Gracia has either won or drawn 67% of his games during his 514 game managerial career - not too shabby in my humble opinion.
Lies, damned lies and statistics eh? His WIN % with Watford, the only experience that counts, was 37.9%. Even taking his entire managerial career, of the 514 games you mention, the WIN % is only 41.1% (see the Wiki entry). Winning is what counts, no?

Ignorant is as ignorant does, at least I look at what's relevant experience. Of course, if you think that a winning % of 72.7% with that giant of the footballing world, Al Sadd, is sufficiently significant, that's fine. I'm not so persuaded, as a Leeds supporter that is.

Given our recent history of managerial selections (with of course, one significant success) we have been totally pi55-poor no matter who has owned the club or managed the team and Gracia looks no better. Of course it's a fair question to ask who exactly would be prepared to come in to the current basket case, and for how long, we will see I guess.

Btw., just for context, if you want to take an entire career as a yardstick, over his entire managerial career, Jesse Marsch has a WIN % of 50.15

…. And relax - looks like he is about to be appointed so we will soon enough see.

    On the positive side

He had PL experience with a team that has to battle for survival and did okay - he also had a good cup run

    The uncertainty will be over

    He isn’t Jesse Marsch

He can’t possibly be worse than Jesse Marsch

    He doesn’t speak inane nonsense

Leeds have a squad that is better than the bottom 4 and he has a French pair of eyes so onwards and upwards

Watford was a much lower payroll club than we are right now. The owner also appears to be very "hands on". Not ideal for someone that has firm ideas on how a squad is put together.

I've been a debbie downer lately but this does give me some hope. Especially if he can get in tommorrow and start working for the S ton game. The new manager bounce is real and might really be the case for this guy. Imagine what a win with new manager and the ER crowd could do momentum wise for us.

This is also one that might actually be able to lead the squad next year.

I am experiencing a strange emotion for me lately.... Hope?

    Saved Watford from relegation.

Following season took them to an FA Cup final and an 8th finish in the league.

    Managed Valencia.

    Hardly a mug is he?

I would suggest that this will be his biggest test if he is to be our next manager.

Usual deflection backtracking… you labelled him geriatric… which he isn’t… no matter how much waffle you use to hide the fact… that you got wrong
Maybe it was a spelling mistake?

Happy that we've got a manager to join us.
Not happy that it looks that we've got 7th or 8th choice.
Half a loaf is better than no bread and the jessys larder was definitely empty.
    Let's go again. MOT.

To be fair Billy - Jesse was first choice last time we where looking for a manager....
Those "Choosing" have proved pretty inept with the exception of Marcelo, so I am personally quite happy with this guy. I beleive he is the only candidate spoken to so far with Prem experience, and the experience of facing a relegation battle in this league. I have a mate who is a die hard Watford fan who reckons he's the real deal and was only sacked prematurely because their owner is nortotiously trigger happy.

Time will tell, but I personally am optomistic - my normal state - but not of late.
