I just wish Washington's post hitting shot could have snuck in and we would all be feeling less like rung out flannels now...

I thought everybody played well or really well and, while we rode our luck for periods, we were also good value and defended valiantly against a very good Sunderland side.

Peltier played well. Leo made a massive difference. Two good goals by us. Subs Harding Lindsay looked up for it. Other 3 couldn't fault. Pleased for MT gone right for him.

Get innnnnnnn, much improved from Saturday and points in the bag

What a player Fosu is MOTM
Think Fergie needs to play more up front with goals like that we’ll easy stay up
    Unlucky Washington
    Injuries again
Good to see Lindsay on pitch
Hjelde looked knackered but he definitely made a diffence
We need to get nearer players and not give them miles of space, killing me off ffs
    Onwards and upwards

Where did all these new signings come from?
None of those could have played Saturday or we would have noticed them.
Got to feel for hall. It looks like a hamstring the way he was holding his leg. I noticed peltier a few minutes before he came off grabs the back of his leg. Fingers crossed it's a slight tweek not another hammy.
Bailey wright should be back Monday but so could woody.

    Mowbray is gutted.

He thinks they should be beating teams like rotherham.

How many times have sunderland been in the championship compared to roterham in the past 5 seasons

Who went up automatic who went up via the play offs

    Whats the big shock

Loved the way we were set up from the off, unlike Saturday, first half pretty much end to end with a snorting shot from basil giving us a half time lead. Fosu my MOM closely followed by Hjelde and Coventry although every single starter and sub played their part, yes Sunderland put us under some serious pressure 2nd half and had 2 goals disallowed and we hit the post, but we looked very lively on the break with the influential Fosu causing them problems.
I loved how MT put 2 strikers on, kelly and Washington, lateish in the game when at the time we were under the cosh, and most managers, I'm sure, would have shored up the defence with another centre back or defensive midfielder or both.
2 tough games we have just had against 2 really good teams and if we'd drawn both games I'm sure we'd all have been fairly happy, but a win and a loss gives us more points, although from my hearts point of view I'd sooner have the winning game first.
Sunderland were excellent, big club with wonderful support but they are missing their talisman striker Ross Stewart which IMO could derail their play off bid, I hope it doesnt as I really like the club and their brilliant support, and I for one will be looking for their results and hoping they get a play off place. Their best player was that number 10 when he came on, caused a lot of problems and nobody seemed to be picking him up.
