    Sunderland Post Match Thoughts

Well that's RUFC for you! Just when you prepare yourself for the return of all the doom and gloom merchants on MM they pull a rabbit out of the hat and go and do that. As usual we don't like to make it easy for ourselves so we let the opponents back in the game to keep our blood pressure up for the last 30+8 minutes. Injuries, substitutions and two goals (yes 2 goals) from open play to talk about on a night when at least 2 out of 3 of the other results went our way.

    Thoughts?

Super result and performance but more injuries are a worry. Might be a route back into the first team for Woody after all at this rate

Nerves shot to pieces. Much to dissect, good and bad. 5 points clear of the bottom 3 again. 5 points between us and 15th...

    Enjoy your weekend everyone. UTM!

I think I've done both hammys in, thrashing out at everything.

Absolute other end of the spectrum compared to Sat'day. Why are we so Jekyll n Hyde?

Brilliant game; some massive performances - Fosu (MoM), Pelts, Coventry, Hjelde and, of course, Mr Viking. And a credit mention for JL as a late sub.

Two sweetly-struck gems; what would you give for a simple tap in?

3 priceless points - hope we don't keep getting injured like this though or the kids will have to play

I thought Chieo, Coventry, Peltier were excellent.
Fosu showed what he is capable of and Leo is a different class.

Injury time was horrible and lasted forever.

Hopefully Hall, olllie and Peltier are ok for Monday.

Have to come on and praise the team for that performance, they showed real passion and desire. i thought when Hall went off we were just jinxed to lose and go down as nothing was going for us, but so glad we had enough tonight. Peltier was a real leader and to see how annoyed he was at being taken off was wonderful to see. Fosu is a very good player, and he brings that little bit of quality to the team. Hjelde is the business as well and Coventry played his best game for us. That is three of the january signings starting to hit the spot. Hugil was good first half but in the 2nd half he went missing, stopped chasing the ball down and I hope that is still fitness. It was good to see Lindsay come on and as the commentary said, showed that bit of grit and battle, that has to be good for us. Amazing result against a very good team, one that was better when the subs came on. Swansea losing at home, might have them cheered up for Monday, but a good chance for Ogbene to show them what they missed out on and if we can fight like that we have a chance, what we need is a bit of consistency and to make all the home games count. Well done again to the whole team and management team.
