I'm impressed UG, my only experience at that level was playing in charity match against a Lowerhouse XI, the ball that did for me was so quick that I just didn't pick it up at all, but the bowler was only a medium pace trundler in the Lowehouse first team. I have nothing but admiration for batsmen at League level and above, a different cricket world to mine.

I guess it's just something you grow up with and get used to. That's all it is I guess, being familiar with the pace and growing up with it. Would be hard for some one who didn't play regular to be expected to play against quicker bowling. Having said that, the quickest I faced was Alan Donald. I'm sure he was the quickest in the world at the time. First ball was in the wicket keepers gloves before I moved

Burnley is a fantastic club. Some of the players they have produced over the years is incredible. Just in my era I think around 5 or 6 played county level. The Browns, Harveys, Jon Claire and obviously the worlds best bowler in Anderson. Unbelievable really.

I think the second test starts tonight weather permitting, I'll be watching.

My admiration has just gone up another notch UG, I'm breaking out in a cold sweat just thinking about facing Alan Donald.
