    A game of two halves

I always though under Sean that he was perfectly content if we came off 0-0 at half-time, he knew we could win it in the 2nd half, and that pattern seems to have continued under Vinni, no matter the half-time score, in the 2nd half we put the afterburners on.

But I was surprised to see what a difference there is in our 1st half and 2nd half performances. If you compile a league table based on first half scores, we'd only be 5th with 51 pnts, Bristol City would be top with 55pnts. A league table based on 2nd half scores sees us easily top with 69 pnts, Boro are 2nd with 58 pnts. So we're far more effective in the 2nd half, but that just confirms what we knew anyway.

Intriguingly Bristol City who top the 1st half table are next to bottom of the 2nd half table. Are they simply not fit enough, is there something amiss with Nigel Pearson's training and fitness regime, is it Pearson's tactics, or is there something else in play ? I don't know, it's bit of a mystery, maybe some City fans would have some ideas, but I don't know any to ask.

Much better to finish strongly even if it means letting the opposition "equalise" first as my mate used to say when we went 1-0 down.

Forget all the facts ,figures and statistics. We are top of the league by being the best team over 90 minutes. That’s all that matters to me.

I love facts, figures and statistics, I wouldn't be doing the Prediction League otherwise, and I find it intriguing that while we're the best team over 90 minutes, we're only 5th best over the first 45.

Simple one to answer is this sinkov. After 70 minutes of chasing the football like a Jack Russell does with a beach ball on a windy Southport beach the opposition are knackered.
Millwall turned out to be the odd exception but I still thought we would do them in the last 5 minutes and so did the home fans because they were whistling like canaries for another totally bloody useless referee to end the game.

Sounds logical mon ami, and Swansea, a team with even more possession than us, would seem to bear this out. Although they haven't had the same success as us, their games follow a similar pattern, 18th in the 1st half table, up 7 places to 11th in the 2nd half.

Might it be because the Swans can't bring on the likes of Rodriguez, Benson, Twine, Churlinov, Dervisoglu, Foster and Obafemi if Barnes, Tella and Zaroury are not quite cutting it after 60 minutes mon ami?

Got the train back from South Bermondsey post-match and the Millwall fans to a person said Burnley are the best equipped and best footballing team in the Championship by a country mile.

How Kompany turned our lot around within six months is mind-blowing! I want him to dispense me with the same "Elixir of Youth" he is shoving down Barnes' throat!

The transformation of Barnes has been brilliant, at the start of the season he was like a duck out of water, now he's like a shark.

And that's putting it mildly UG, I've been watching football since the 50s and I've never known anything even remotely like it.
