Shedka , by your logic Goodwin is a sensible appointment, Fox hard done by cos his record was decent from Oct. to Jan , which took in the World Cup , yet from start of season to World Cup break Aberdeen were second top scorers , 3rd in the league and has a semi final to look forward to ?????

One thing for certain is that if we are relegated this forum will be inundated with posts telling us that we should have given Levein anything he wanted.
It’s as if he was the wizard with a magic wand who would turn up at Tanny and all would be well.
Maybe it would but we’ll never know because he turned us down.
Nobody can deny he did a great job as manager but that was years ago and it’s been a while since he managed at all.
    There were no guarantees.
Let’s be honest manager of United at this time is something of a poisoned chalice.

This is a good post. Goodwin has more relevant recent experience than Levein. It sounds like the interviewers of Levein asked some good questions that they (and I as it turns out) didn't like the answer to.

To be fair to Goodwin he has been brave enough to take it on , plenty wouldn’t in our position and iam sure a few have advised him against it . He deserves our backing and it certainly won’t be be on him if we go down

Agree 100% with the above. One of my favourite pundits is Michael Stewart and he and Levein had a massive fall out when the latter was DOF then manager at Hearts. It still festers to this day even though they both do work with Sportsound. One of the stats brought up by Stewart the other week was that during his tenure Levein brought in 95 players to Hearts and they were a shambles.
