As legs said it’s much much quicker now. Players are technically monitored now and I would hazard a guess then they either got injured from not spotting it or just continually played with the injuries, wouldn’t have mattered so much then because it was same for everyone. You have to believe medical science is correct and what LW is fed is the truth.
Would be interesting to find out what were the average distances covered by players in the 70s just as a reference.
