Not his fault he let a business go £20M plus into debt? Seriously?
I wouldn’t blame him either, he had a plan that we all bought into, no doubt you’ll say you never enjoyed it, and were against it from the start

I never saw any of the football matches.
I was an armchair supporter as I played golf at Downfield GC on a Saturday afternoon.

That is why I can post an unbiased view regarding about Dundee Football Club going into Administration in November 2003 as I never saw any of the games during the Bonetti era.
Incidentally during this era I was speaking a person who worked for RBS in Manchester and he told me that he could not understand how a club the size of Dundee FC could afford to sign Cannigia. We now know how they managed it. Borrowed money with little hope of paying it back.

No they didn’t. They thought paying Cannigia say £10k a week was good business if they sold him for £800k after less than a year at the club. Trouble was the other clubs did the same maths and brought in their own stars to sell on. Bosman changed all that.

The Bosman ruling was passed on 15th December 1995 and the Marrs purchased Dundee Football Club Limited in 1997. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosman_ruling
Therefore the Marrs knew the transfer rules regarding the Bosman ruling with a least one high profile Scottish footballer having been transferred under the Bosman ruling in 1996 before the Marrs purchased Dundee Football Club Limited from Ron Dixon’s company in 1997.

Not sure what's happened to the quote function on here.

I enjoyed it, was great. But I'd no idea that they were running up the type of debt that would nearly finish the club. Might've taken a different view if I'd known the full details.
