    As for the policy Gary Lineker was talking about, it’s clearly abhorrent, designed to appeal to the worst people in the Tory base. He was right to point out that the language Braverman uses is reminiscent of 1930s Germany. She’s an appalling human being.
    So you and Gary Lineker are seemingly pro slavery then? The policy is to try and get those trying to get over here to go through official channels. Stopping the small boats stops the slavery they will end up in if they don't die or face a very dangerous journey. Is it a perfect policy, no. But surely better than allowing hundreds if not thousands becoming slaves in this country without access to healthcare or support right?

    The only problem is nobody with any experience of the situation think it will work. It is merely an attempt by the government to distract from the catastrophic state of the country after 13 years of Tory rule.

    If forced slavery in this country is as big a problem as you claim, shouldn't the government be tackling that as a matter of priority?

    What are those ‘official channels’ that are open to an Iranian woman fleeing Islamist persecution or a young man leaving war torn Eritrea? You might struggle to say because Braverman herself couldn’t say when facing the select committee a few months ago;

    As for slavery, Sunak has clearly said people fleeing persecution, war or famine who end up in this country without permission will be fair game to be enslaved without any recourse to official channels. A slaver’s paradise.
