    What exactly is your opinion?

I'm assuming that being a Guardian reader that you agree with Lineker that all and sundry should rock up in little dinghies on our shores? Despite the fact that 9/10 of those arriving on boats are from countries like Albania and are simply coming for financial reasons.
I'm sure there's a room at your house for a few though eh, 123?

That’s the point!!! Those who are vocal against the government to stop illegals arriving - don’t have to live near them!!! Ask the folk near the coast line whether they are happy and the answer will be no!!

Shocking how these boats have not been stopped sooner! Perhaps army patrol boats are needed! Any that make it to shore should work for their board and food - cleaning filthy streets and toilets. Talk about a free lunch!

Any credible immigrants won’t mind going to Rwanda if they are desperate to enter. Yes to skilled engineers and medics etc!

Lineker - what an absolute p rick!! Spouting on about human rights but quite happy like Beckham to pocket Qatar money!!

Maybe 123 should join one of the mad hatter charities helping these illegals!! Incredible!

If you think a few thousand people risking their lives and turning up on boats is the biggest issues we are facing as a country it tells me a lot about your priority levels.

Most people in this country are not that intelligent, the Brexit vote is a clear example of that. So dog whistle politics and propaganda rags will be right up your street.

I agree with Lineker that we take in far fewer immigrants than most European countries - this is a fact. I agree with him that some of the language used by our Government is similar to 1930's Germany, this is subjective but its my opinion.

Out of interest, what is your solution to it?

Asylum Seekers are not allowed to work while their claims are being processed. And their claims are taking a very long time. They are being paid for to sit in hotels, unable to work. Spot the problem here?

We are paying millions in hotel accommodation because of the Governments very own policy. Which the Government are complaining about.

To be honest I couldn’t care one bit about what Lineker tweeted. But it does and seem like a lot of you have been angered by it as soon as the Daily Mail and GB a news rags want to amplify it. And surprise what do we have here? The gullibles and brainwashed right winger’s absolutely incensed by all of this.

I just wish when you call for impartiality you look a few levels up.. such as the chairman of the BBC who sorted an £800,000 loan for Boris Johnson? Who is a tory supporter. You’re all mugs.

It really doesn’t hurt to do a bit of research.

Now let’s look at linekers tweet, which i’m sure you all have read too.. of course you have. I think the daily mail have twisted this about and fed this to the gammons and this is what we have.

We’ve opened safe routes for Ukranians and not others which is what lineker is also questioning?

I’d like a total ban on immigration by the way. That is where I stand, however harsh that sounds. I actually recall letters saying this is a bigger problem than we think and he’s right. No government will ever sort this no matter how much they claim to. It’s just only going to do the rounds as usual.

Exactly this. Especially the BBC Chairman...isn't he a Tory donor too?

I don't remember this uproar when Andrew Neil gave his personal opinions on Twitter, when he was a BBC reporter.

Interesting, and I stand corrected. But I'm right in thinking this is going through a trial now and the gist of it is that Lineker declares himself as a freelancer but HMRC see him as an employee. Let's see what the end result is when it comes.

People on here get riled too easily and part of that is how their news is channeled through to them. I’ll try not to react to everything, especially when I don’t know all the facts and who said what. I’ll be honest, neither party is innocent in all of this as they’ll both put their spin on it. It’s why I won’t be voting next election. Pointless.
