Here’s a new concept for Match of the Day, just show a decent amount of highlights of the actual games and cut out the 45 minutes of waffle we seem to get every week, there’s more chat than football.

But as much as I dislike Lineker as a presenter, suspending him over this is pretty ridiculous.

No presenter and no pundits tomorrow night. Great, just show the football.

I’m actually looking forward to watching it now and not having to wait till 11:15 so I can fast forward through all the tripe spouted.

    No commentators either.

The BBC can buy commentary in, of course.

Record the programme on a Saturday night and watch it later while skipping through the pundits waffle.

In the most literal sense it now seems the entirety of the BBC (including sports and wildlife programming) is governed by 'Political Correctness'.

Brian Clough used to say that, and he was probably right.

I'm taking a risk here by mentioning two ex-Forest people in the same Tweet, but I actually think the best 'anchor' presenter on any of the football programmes I've seen is David Prutton. He's intelligent, knowledgeable, witty and very relaxed, which usually enables him to bring the best out of his co-presenters and pundits. Personally I hope he continues to present Football League programmes on Sky, because I spend a lot of time watching those, but if was offered the kind of salary Lineker gets to present MoTD, I think he would be more deserving of it.
