If you’ve read any of my post you’d have picked up that i’ve stated I won’t be voting at the next GE.. surely that’s a hint i’m not a fan of current Labour/Tories.

What I glean from many who post on this site is that they would prefer to watch the games without the commentary or punditry. It will be interesting to see the comments after tonight’s programme. These commentators and pundits need to be careful, they could be doing themselves out of very lucrative jobs!

Personally - Lineker isn't a news broadcaster so should be able to tweet whatever he likes, most people can see beyond the hysteria and demarcate between what he's paid to do & what he does when he's "out of the office". I'd hope the BBC hierarchy is calm and objective enough to reconsider their approach here.
I totally agree. Whether you like a presenter or not they are entitled to an opinion. Taking away people's voices and opinions are acts against human rights.
This government is trying to take away the right for peaceful protests. We are fast becoming a totalitarian state and people are more interested in Russia.
Power to the people as Lennon once said.

I watched a match on tv last Tuesday, the Albion game, and the first half had no commentary, just the crowd noise, it was far better than having commentators constantly wittering away. I saw the first half hour of last nights game, the commentary was awful, who the woman was who did the in-match punditry I don’t know but she was dreadful. We also heard the age old nonsense of ‘……were saved by the crossbar’! No they weren’t, the shot was off target. I will enjoy MOTD rather more without the commentators and pundits; well I expect to, we’ll see what it is like.

I regularly listened to games with no commentators when I listened to games years ago.
Much better experience in my view.

It’s ironic because I too won’t be voting Labour at the next election.

Just because me and Regis (presumably) hate the Tories doesn’t mean you have to automatically affiliate us with Labour.

Although it’s clear to me Labour is a better option than the Tories, it’s hardly something to praise. I reckon any competent party would be 10x better than them.

Do you really disagree with the Anti-Protest Bill though 1955? Give it a good read, all it says is that the police have powers to break up disruptive protests that are affecting public and businesses. So basically when it enters the 1000's. It stops people gathering for protest outside abortion clinics and gives enforceable laws to stop those who glue themselves to roads. There's some powers against those who lock themselves to things as well and a sentence for those who block tunnels (I didn't even know this was a thing!)

The left painted this as taking away rights for peaceful protests but actually it just stops the nonsense and protects people.

Everybody believes in the right to protest Matt until the idiots glued to the road lose a relative because an ambulance can’t get to hospital in time or they miss a football match!

If you want to build an housing estate on a protected meadow you start by building a couple of houses on a corner nobody is bothered about.
I do take your point though, some protesters are their own worst enemies.

I don't like Starmer at all but Labour is the only viable option of getting the Old Etonians out.
