Sounds like late submission of accounts due to changing auditors.

It's unsettling news, no club needs this but in the real scheme of things it won't make a hoot of difference because the accounts will be filed albeit late, but next season we will be operating under EPL jurisdiction.

Anyway, a transfer embargo between transfer windows is like a shooting ban outside the hunting season, no problemo.

I've twice before mentioned that the auditors seemed to have reservations about our situation in the last Financial Statement. Without checking the relevant thread and post, I'm pretty sure I said that it seemed the auditors were saying, 'If it all goes pear-shaped, don't blame us'.

I sincerely hope this is not a case of BFC saying to it's auditors, 'You don't like the way we're running the club, fine, we'll find some auditors who don't have any concerns then". But it may be.

More concerning for me is because the EPL/FA/EFL combination genuinely do not care for little old Burnley they will dream up some sort of mammoth points deduction of a previously unused proportion to try and deny us promotion.

That's in the back of my mind too Alfie. The VAR decisions in the EPL this weekend were bordering on farcical madness.

This is what I've dug up from a few months ago, incidentally I have read the last Financial Statement and the Auditor's Report.

"I meant financially stable Swiss, we were sinking on the pitch because Garlick was starving Dyche of funds for his own nefarious purposes. The accountants and auditors were perfectly tranquil and happy, they're not now."

BT, "How on earth do you know that sinkov or is that how you would like it to be."

"Read the Independent Auditor's Report in the last Annual Financial Statement, it starts on page 10, then compare it to what they said the previous year."

Swiss, "Having endured auditors for forty years, I can say that their speciality is covering their own arses by qualifying the accounts - especially something like a leveraged buy out. I am not surprised if they were nervous. As you have said, it will be interesting to see the next set of financials to understand the position better. Revenue will be boosted by the sale of players and I expect the expenses to be down after clearing out some of the higher earners."

"It seemed to be the known unknowns that were making them a bit twitchy Swiss, other companies whose dealings could impact on BFC, and they had no way of quantifying the potential risk."

And now those twitchy auditors are gone. Groucho Marks once said, 'These are my principles. If you don’t like them I have others.' Seems like ALK have other auditors as well.
