Any chance of interesting the local press in the story?
I’m visiting my first local estate agent this morning Kets, I have a meeting set up with their head of lettings.

I’ll be visiting every agent within a ten mile radius over the coming weeks.

Unbelievably, I have to wait a week before I can be more openly public about these scumbags.

They have 7 days in which to return to the property to retrieve any possessions.

So even though they’ve trashed it and left us with I’d guess a £2000+ bill for clearing out all the a h I t they’ve left and a £30k+ bill to replace kitchen, bathrooms and all flooring, we are still responsible for their belongings for a week and can’t touch them or we could be sued.

    How f u c k I n g sick is that!!?

Seen the photos you sent and absolutely shocked Mick! I feel for you and these scum need teaching a lesson.

If it were me I would be prepared to part with another 2K for someone to give them a good lesson and break some bones. In fact it would give me great satisfaction.

Hope these scumbags go to sleep tonight and don’t wake up!

So glad that you have at least got your property back at long last and can only guess at your anger over not only the behaviour over these people and the cost and damage they have caused you but also the shambolic laws that enable this. In your position I would also be sorely tempted to take a baseball bat to these c u nts but, hard as it is, your'e better off doing what you are and staying the right side of the law.

Hopefully getting the message out to other letting agencies might prevent them from doing the same to someone else but have you no legal recourse to seek damages from them? I know they are on benefits and will claim they have no money but if they have a new car they must have some? (and if the car is a motability one then are they genuinely disabled or have you good reason to report them for fraud?). Personally, I'd want to get back at these people as much as I could but I also realise that there also has to come a point when you have to cut it loose and move on because holding onto all that anger isn't going to do you any good. In the meantime do what you can. Again, am genuinely sorry for what you and your family have been put through with all this.

Commiserations Mick for all you've had to go through mate, it's truly heartbreaking and unfathomable to right minded people how others can act as these vermin have, then again they clearly don't pay their way do they.

I hope that you're not feeling down for long, life is short - I also hope they end up properly investigated for potential benefit fraud & see out their days in some sh1th0le draughty social housing.

Thanks WCV…..both to you and 68 and everyone else who’s contributed and sent best wishes.

Today I started my tour of local estate agents to warn them about these people.

The first agent I visited had had these people rent a previous property and do exactly the same thing to that landlord.

My managing agent rang them prior to letting them take our property and they were told….”DO NOT DO IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES” and yet they did, all for £100 a month commission! 😤😤😤

Legal proceedings imminent against our agent for negligence, I have other evidence of other serious mistakes they made when setting up the rental agreement.
