Scoring goals against them is a must be we will continue to sit in like a terrified lamb waiting to go to slaughter. No fight from the club equals no intention of winning.
I am close to agreement with you on this. We go into these games already beaten- law of averages may show that given the gulf in quality in players they should win more often than not on paper, we make it too easy for them.
Other teams may get dominated also, but they work harder than our team sitting back waiting for the inevitable. Was ingrained during McInnes time apart from very rare occasions we actually got stuck in and matched them for effort, and also targeted where their weaknesses were.
Kicking them off the park won’t work as we all know the outcome but being more physical within the boundaries and niggle them, break up their momentum, is not something that we have been good at. Being passive doesn’t work

I find it amusing that some people try to pretend that us getting beat by Celtic all the time is a recent thing.

The first time I went to an Aberdeen Celtic game in which we won was in 1995,we beat them 2-0 with Shearer and Irvine on the scoresheet.

Since that game way back in 1995 we have beaten them 11 times in all competitions.

The last time we had an experienced foreign manager 20 odd years ago we were getting licked by Celtic on a regular basis as well.

For some reason people didn’t seem to be as bothered about it than they are these days.

I think it is the manner we have been beaten more recently

Always felt we had a bit more fight about us pre-McInnes but I will give you the Ebbe operation analogy and McGhees glib response to getting thumped 9-0
Losing 2-0 or even 4-0 having a go for me is better than trying to shut up shop for 85 minutes and hope for a free kick or corner that we might score from

Simply for the reason they weren’t upto it and didn’t have the mindset, mentality and skill to do so.

On a serious note….quite a few Dons fans are getting all hot and bothered about wanting Barry Robson as manager. When push came to shove we got licked by Celtic under him….havs everyone forgotten that for some reason? The guy is learning the trade and I do like him but we need a proper manager in and not the cheap skate option which the board will have you believe was the best one. If someone can’t be a successful Aberdeen manager then they are in real trouble. I believe it would be as good a management job as any in the respect that there is no drive to win anything. It’s just about finishing in the top 3-4 in the league and getting to the odd cup final. We don’t even attempt to win any trophies now…it’s just about taking part. What’s hard about that?
When Robson got "licked" by Celtic he had been in the job 10 minutes, with a team who had been drained of all motivation, confidence and desire. I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one, and wait to see how he sets up against them next time round before making my full judgement on his sh*tehispantsery against that Glasgow pair.

But the sooner we get you in as boss, and start banging them in for fun against them both, the better

I certainly couldn’t do worse than Jim Goodwin, Mark McGhee and Steve Paterson. If I got the time and patience McInnes received i would win the lot. No Aberdeen team of mine would ever be told to stand off any opposition.
Get yourselves into coaching instead of moaning about it….it’s great fun. If you are good at it you will have a winning team. My kids are known as the 100 percent mob….we do nothing but win.

I'm not moaning. I am excited to see you move us up the league. When (not if) the Dons are the 100% mob under you I will finally be able to open that bottle of champagne I have been saving since about 1992.

You are a breath of fresh air and one of the few realistic and positive posters on here. We should all be more RJ.

The day I stop demanding we actually try and win things is the day I stop breathing.

So apparently Willie Garner of the football monitoring board has been going around telling various people that Robson will be in charge for at least another 3 games.

That to me could mean 4 things.

    1. They are giving Robson more time to see if they want to give it to him permanently.

    2. They are going for an experienced foreign manager and are waiting for a work permit.

    3. They are waiting for a certain individual to be able to work in the uk after the new tax year

    4. They still don’t have a fvcking clue who they want after 2 months.
