They've had a great season, albeit, having spent millions to get there with four players on loan from Man City. Currently on an embargo for failing to submit their accounts in on time, they sacked their accountants and brought in an American firm of accountants to 'sort out the mess' ?? Fine lines indeed on getting to the promised land or going bust.
They can secure a top-two place on Friday if Luton fail to win at Millwall and then Burnley win at Middlesbrough in the evening kick-off. Failing that, 8 points from their last games (how many Elk?) should see them up as they have a vastly superior goal difference over third placed Boro.
I would simply hate it if they go up at ours by beating us. I've witnessed it before where Crawley beat us at Don Valley (Evo) to secure their promotion. So let's hope they're up already by the time to come to play at ours and play some fringe players.

I didn't realise they are American owned. I did catch though a few weeks ago on MOTD when a famous American sportsperson (multi millionaire) was in their crowd as a guest. Apparently he wants to buy into the club and he's got millions to spend. Good luck with that one.

Unless I misunderstood you, I think Burnley only need 5 points for promotion as it stands now. The maximum Boro and Luton can get is 88 and both have a vastly inferior goal difference. If Luton fail to win at Millwall a win at Middlesbrough will see them up whereas a draw would mean them requiring in reality, only a point against Sheffield United on Monday night due to their far better goal difference. The only way they would need something at NYS would be if Burnley lost both games v Boro and Sheff Utd, or only picked up a point in those games and then failed to win at Reading on the 15th. Of course if Luton and or Middlesbrough failed to win both Easter games, it would reduce Burnley’s target accordingly.
By the way Luton play Middlesbrough on 24th April and they both can’t win so I think it will be wrapped up before we play them.
In addition to playing us, Burnley also have to visit Reading and play both QPR and Cardiff (last game) at Turf Moor, so will have an impact on the relegation scene too.

Everything in their hands tonight.
Burnley already 1 up tonight at Boro but lucky to be in front as Barnes was offside when he scored but, there's no offside in the Championship!
Boro do look sharp though. Both Barlaser and Crooks on the bench. Love to have both of them back with us.
Putting on my ELK hat - already covered this on another thread Brin sometime back![]()
No - I already covered it Brin weeks ago suggesting that Burnley might be an easy game as they could be hungover from winning the title at Reading 3 days before playing us. Numpty!![]()
