Was looking for the post where EP gave the updated title odds, must've been deleted...but looking at oddschecker, odds like Wrexham 2/7 and Notts 5/2 have to be way, way off the mark in what is a pretty much level two-outcome scenario right now...

Are the bookies making the same mistake as a lot of the Wrexham fans, who have allowed growing confidence to become a baked-in assumption? They're still clear favourites but it's a lot narrower than those odds surely?

If Wrexham players have the same hubris as some of the fans, they're in trouble...
Watching the blogs and the pods, Notts fans are humble and modest, they, on the other hand, are too cocksure.
Was watching NCTalk and their fan with his 'you've overachieved' and overall assumption that they've got it, is typical of what you pick up. It must be the Hollywood (=Munto) entitlement (that got us too ) plus all the late winners that have baked in this over-confident assumption that it's their fate.

Probably is, but it's sweet that it's taken a major jolt for 72 hours at least

It is purely the Hollywood/Mungo entitlement, Notts fans on the internet were also very cocky , ultra confident, and often arrogant. I didn't blame the Notts fans then, and I don't blame Wrexham fans now. If you've been to all 20 home games seen 19 victories and no defeats, plus finding so many ways to win late on when you maybe haven't played well.

What I'm dreading about this game is not Tozer's long throws but the reappearance of his f***in towels. It's not part of football!!

If it happens, I'd love to see us bring on towels for every one of our throws, even free kicks, until the ref tells us to stop, then be up in arms if he does it

Probably more to do with the game in hand that Wrexham have in addition to the similar goal differences. The odds will change significantly with a win either way. We’ll likely go odds on with a win. Bookies might start paying out on the title if Wrexham win.

If Carlsberg fancy doing a Monday… then then this is it.

Interesting that some of there fans think pressing us is the way to go. Especially with comments about them looking leggy.
I suspect if we look back on the games we have drawn or lost then the ‘low block’ and hit us on the counter is the way to go.

This is gonna sound really daft but I’d prefer to be in our position. The thought of us having them at home having just lost 3 points in the standings and having harder games left would fill me with fear and I imagine the home crowd.

All the pressure is on Wrexham now, we can go there Monday with nothing to fear and essentially nothing to lose.

This is my thinking. They seem to think the pressure is on us as we're chasing, but most of us have been expecting to be in the playoffs for weeks now. Lose, and we're finishing second - i.e. nothing changes for us.

For this reason, we should go out all guns blazing and attack. A draw would be a great result, but we shouldn't play for one. Just go out swinging and see what happens. If we end up losing and in the playoffs, that's what we expected anyway.

The pressure is on them. It's theirs to throw away in spectacular fashion, not ours.

Here's the ref for the game on Monday, Mr Tallis. Especially selected by Ryan...
