But surely you can see that changing the number’s doesn’t improve your odds? Your odds are identical no matter what numbers you pick.

flour, I only place £1 bets. Like you say nowt much lost if I lose. I limit myself to as much as £10 usually on a Saturday but, don't always spend a full tenner.
