Isn't Nick Heyward the greatest guitarist ever?

Find what you claim that I said and prove me a liar. It's not hard.

Anyway, back on topic,I`m a record collector and about 4 years ago I bought a collection from a bloke in Sheffield, turned out Richard Hawley lived 5 doors down and apparently he had partys every new year to which most of the street went to !
Went in the local working mens club on a regular basis as well.
Fun fact...he was briefly in Pulp.

He was also in a very underrated Sheffield band called ‘Longpigs’.

Probably named for the period of time it was taking Sheffield Wednesday to get into Europe?

The reference about the thin legs was taken from the lyrics of 'Oh Well' by the original Fleetwood Mac, featuring , go on then, I'll go for it, my favourite ever guitarist, the late, great Peter Green. Saw them at Sheffield Uni November 1969, my first ever gig. I watched history in the making. However, in true rock and roll tradition, the brightest flames burn brightly but only for a brief time before they burn themselves out. He fried his head through drug/alcohol abuse and by the early 90's he was cabbaged.

I was a big fan of their first album ''the Sun is often out'' (don't tell the Cardiff fans ) and still play it occasionally.

Must have seen RH with them around that time at The Leadmill or Octagon I imagine.

I was also tying to remember whether he came on to play with Elbow for ''The Fix'' at DVS when they supported U2, but can't recall.
