Off topic, but I always wondered about JG, had PH signed him (and Dougie Imrie), the team containing Gauld, Souter x2, Armstrong, GMS, Robertson, Shifty, might have been better balanced with a couple of 'muscular' minders in the spine of the team? All pointless speculation I know, but Houstie might well have played the youngsters if they were more protected.

We had Rankin and Paton instead

I mentioned earlier , that we should wait and see how things turn out before offering any contract. What I didn't think about was, as you mentioned, there will be a good few clubs I would think now looking at him considering the massive change he has made with us in such a short time.

Not being interested in talks at the moment is the correct thing to say. What I am worried about now (coz oh you) is......if we don't offer him something, and the dosh or futba level might be better , he might move on.

He might actually be saying the same thing to us, yi never know.

All I do know is.... he is DEFO the man for the job, right here, right now, (nae sang please)
    For now........ he's the Gaffer.
I agree, it would be good to get him signed up as it's pretty obvious he's getting something others could get our of our players. Probably complicated though and you can understand him not wanting to jump at anything right now. The club is in a no win situation but that is down to the great job JG is doing and if he keeps us up then leaves then so be it. He'll leave with my congratulations and admiration anyway.

Yes but the club need that stability so if he keeps us up then jumps ship would be another disappointment

Sounds to me like Goodwins agent trying force Utds hand into coming up with a contract.

Signing Goodwin just now is a distraction that we don't need! I think JG is pretty settled with his family in Glasgow at the moment and I genuinely can't see him jumping ship to go down south unless it was for loads of money. I would take this news with a pinch of salt and see it as sh#t stirring from people who are not in the know! The next game is all that matters for united just now!

Agreed. He's not going anywhere imo. Already seems far to invested in the entire football club to be jumping ship anytime soon.

Exactly! Robson is flying at Aberdeen but not one report of teams down south interested in his services but 3 wins in a row has them fighting over JG?

It's the f*cking Sun after all
