A season in the EFL with a core of good youngsters should see them all progress development wise too.

    Meslier

    Drameh Cresswell Wober Hjelde

    Gyabi Foreshaw

    Summerville Perkins Gnonto

    Joffy

Not sure many teams would fancy playing that side in the EFL.
    Ok, a soupcon of reality to that team;

Meslier won't take a 50% drop in salary, and playing in the Championship, when he doesn't need to, and there has been sufficient interest in him (despite the recent dip in form) to make another PL position (even as second string GK) more than feasible.

Drameh has already indicated he wants away even whilst we have been in the PL

Not many things BB and I agree on, but that Wober is too good to stay is one of them, and why should he take a 50% pay cut when he doesn't have to (and he doesn't)?

Hjelde was good enough to play for us earlier in the season, and performed better than any of the others who have played in LB (except when Wober has dropped into that position). He's done well while on loan, and the "attractions" of LUFC in the Championship would be questionable to say the least.

Perkins has been studiously ignored, and again it would be interesting to see if any new set-up (see below) would be enough to persuade him (and others) to trust that their future will be suitably looked after.

Gnonto won't stay, again he doesn't need to take a 50% pay cut because there are plenty of clubs interested in him (here and abroad)

Joffy falls into the "would they trust the club" faction, even more so since he featured for the 1st team much more than most of those named.

The big issue for all of those who might stay is "what kind of club would I be trusting with my future?" If we are relegated, Radrizzanis dreams of Inter ownership are over, and whatever he might get from the 49-ers (The takeover isn't guaranteed, even if we were by some miracle to stay in the PL), will be substantially lower than previous estimates (if it happens at all).

How confident can anyone be (in particular the players retained after relegation) that we will get capable executives, capable coaches (head and "specialist"), and all the other "infrastructure" requirements that have proved to be so sadly lacking? How much more attractive would the prospect of moving to clubs that have stability, and for whom many have played and succeeded?

Tend to be more glass half full. Think the draw of the club is still bigger than suggested and likely to be more positive if there is change, a plan/vision and good management/coaching appointments.

Players that are contracted to us for a few years the club may just want to hold onto and we also get parachute payments.

Maybe some of those mentioned will go and others will stay but the point being we will still have decent players and if they think they can get regular first team football that is what some of them want.

    Time will tell I guess
