    James ward prowse..

Confident of an instant Premier return with Southampton.
All the best with that James, you're in for a shock. Really tough league to get out of. Its a shock to the system.
Southampton have lost all of their best players over the years to "bigger" clubs which is what happens to the most of us if you don't have a board with deep pockets.

I'm not too sure to be honest Boingy, it looks like they've been recruiting for the Championship for a while now 😉 .

In all fairness they've got some decent enough players but they lack leaders. Always liked the look of Che Adams when he was in the Championship with Blues.

Not the most prolific but physical and brings others into the game, he'll be more effective at Championship level than he's been in the Prem'.

It’s so hard for any club below the top six. All capable of having a season of going down. Newcastle we’re going that way till el-al deep pockets came in.

At least their keeper will have two clean sheets against us! They must be s hitting themselves at the thought of Furlong - Townsend and Ajayi!

I actually do rate those players Mick. Townsend has come on a ton since he signed and Furlong has been good at the back and up front. In fact we have two full backs who are capable of scoring. Ajayi has looked good since he came back in.

Conor Townsend is past his best which was never that fantastic in the first place, Furlong never really had a best and Ajayi is inconsistent even at his best.

Three players who have done jobs for us to varying degrees but who ideally should never have been recruited at the time they actually were because we needed better from the resources we had at our disposal.

That they were recruited and retained for so long is a damning indictment of our recruitment and retention policy over a sustained period of time and indicative of how and where we currently find ourselves.

    Have a wonderful day 😎 .
