    So in club records it says Bamford is number 1 taker.
    Don't know what quote you are referring to or where you got it from, but Planetsport quote the following from Allardyce;

    Allardyce added: "Well, I left it how it used to be like before I got here. I mean, I haven't seen them take many penalties. "It is what it is. I would have thought if Rodrigo really wanted it he'd have gone and snatched it off Patrick and said 'I'm taking this'. "So you miss it, it can happen to anybody. It happened to us today but at the worst possible time. And that's very unfortunate for us."

    Thats not referring to any "program of penalty takers", there are no such things, have a look and you will see its flipped between Klich, Bamford and Rodrigo), he's saying he didn't play a part in determining who should take penalties, nor is there any comment about not having enough time to digest things.

    Allardyce may have done some stupid things, but he isn't stupid. Every man and his dog knows that Bamford is low confidence and under the cosh on just about every front, "digesting" that fact would take a nanosecond, and deciding to do something about it about as long. He could and should, have done more (having decided to play Bamford at all, when many commentators and fans would suggest that in itself was a wrong choice to make).

    Obviously he (Bamford) took the penalty and missed, and he is unreliable, there's no "point" to make (or miss).

    The fact remains that in one of the last three matches of this season, with us in the relegation zone and dependent on every point to try and survive in the PL, leading 1 - 0, and with a penalty that might just lead to a crucial three points, is it really credible to suggest that a player lacking in confidence and in a run of poor form should NOT have been challenged when/if he prepared to take it? THAT'S the point.
