Nothing to do with sentiment. Nemane has been incredible this season and with TAR at the club, I don’t see it will be an area looked at to strengthen.

Totally agree with that Nemane will be offered a 2 year deal apart from Ruben he has been our most creative player.
We will play the same system with maybe a tweek or two with more pace in central defence and a more attacking LWB, we brought Baldwin in as a ball playing centre back and he has been an upgrade on previous and we will do the same with at least another one maybe two coming in.
Make no mistake we will dominate the ball again next season(not as much as this season) so to do that we need wing backs high and plenty of players in midfield which this system does.
There is no reason we shouldn't do this as its NOT a Championship to Premier League jump - the lower half of Division 2 is approx top half of NL with the top half being slightly better - we have a far better squad than when we were relegated and a style and head coach that are far superior to then.
Mid table pushing for play offs minimum for me

Unfortunately Durham you didn't rate Nemane all season although he proved you wrong time after time - I expect him to start a number of games although he will share the position with TAR as he exactly fits the system, has pace and can beat a man.
You also berated Bostock for months luckily good job LW knows a baller otherwise we would still be a NL team, he will be massive in Division 2 as he was at Wembley.

'10 minute wonder' to 'Wembley wonder'

TARs unfortunate injury certainly increased Nemane's game time but boy did he take full advantage of it. His form in the second half of the season, and the all important playoff games was impressive , you would be deluded or very biased to think otherwise.

Can he be effective at L2 level, we don't know, we should find out. What I do know is he fully deserves to be given another opportunity. The last one he was given in a new role to him he certainly grabbed with two hands.

With being allowed to make 5 subs (6 if there is a head injury) will mean that Nemane and TAR can be swapped in rotation a lot easier. Being on the bench will not mean a lack of opportunities any more as 5 of the 7 can be utilised and I think Williams will be doing that

I hope you are right. He is good going forward but defensively he is the weak link in the side. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded..

That is possibly why LW played Chicksen on the other side as he is stronger defender but weaker going forward to balance the side out.

He might be weak defender I mean a wing back can’t be expected to both defend and attack like a RB/LB and winger.

Let’s not forget he did get back to put in a match winning challenge in ET against Boreham Wood and he was outstanding in the final too going for the full 120 minutes.

He will be offered a new deal for sure but whether he accepts is another matter.

So it was 10 minute wonder, now it’s just that he’s poor defensively. I’ll say I’m deluded then because I strongly disagree.
Nemanes pace and desire stops so many opportunities before they even start. As is the case with all of our advanced players.
And I won’t mention his goal saving intervention against BW. Without that, Saturday never happened!

A wing back to me is a bit like an all rounder in cricket, very rare is it that you get one of those that is equally good at batting as bowling. Even the best cricketing all rounders have generally been better at one of the two disciplines. In football I think if you have a side at the top, or in or around play off places, you would probably want a wing back who is better going forward, as you will be defending less. If in the lower regions of the division, you would probably need the more defensive skills in a wing back.

I would like to think we would be up there again next season, so I think Nemane will be fine, but hopefully will be pushed very hard by TAR, who I think may turn out even better.

Yup, he was never a '10 minute wonder' this season. But we all get things (badly on this occasion) wrong from time to time.

A winger converted to a wing back is always going to better and more comfortable going forward than backwards. That should surprise nobody. What surprised me is just how much he's continually improved, and just how effective he has been. I said all of this before his two impressive and key performances when it truly mattered in the playoffs.
