    Castro

So now I feel is a good time to ask what happened to him? I saw he went on loan out to Gateshead after us and played only 1 game for them. I liked him as a player seemed to have quite a few plus attributes, thought he had been recalled from us because he wasn’t getting enough game time?

Anyone actually know? I ask now after seeing his sublime free kick in the goal of the season competition.

Got injured (vs Wrexham) I believe.

Agree I liked him feel he should have been given more time though.

He was at Burton Albion in the first month of the season and didn't impress so WBA called him back, that's when Notts got him.

I felt while he was with us that he had genuine talent, but didn’t have the other qualities required of the 2023 Notts, ie putting a full shift in, tackling, attempting to win the ball back when it’s lost, etc. His fantastic goal at York masked all that a-la Noor Husin.
I did wonder what went wrong at Gateshead though, and if he had the same attitude there. If it’s injury, fair enough.

He was really good in the away games I saw him in, not so good in the home games. Definitely a player in there, but not fulfilling his obvious talent.

I thought he was great for us tbh. Full of potential. It wasn't just that firecracker of a goal, he scored a fair few. According to the BBC link below (which admittedly may be wrong) he averaged 1 goal every 97 mins he played for us.

I'd also give him credit for not being happy to sit on the bench here and look for first-team starts elsewhere.

Not sure what his attitude was like, but I'd be very happy to see him back here if West Brom did release him.

I thought he was decent for us and has potential but wasn’t necessarily a seamless fit into our system.
One of those players where you got a little bit excited when coming on as sub.

All the other players were happy to sit on the bench until LW deemed them worthy of a place. Smacks of an attitude to me.
