If it is not depressing enough people wanting to bring in Robbie Neilson leaving aside the fact he walked out on United for Hearts, his football was sterile and only achieved promotion because the board brought in Shankland to bang in the goals and his first choice centre half Mark Connolly got injured and we stopped leaking goals. I will never forget the fist pump at the end of extra time in the play off with 10 man St Mirren showing no ambition to win the game then the worst set of penalty kicks we have ever seen.

That says more about the players , problems at United go way beyond Goodwin , personally , think he worked wonders keeping that shower in contention for so long under Fox we would have down weeks ago

Sorry but the manager can't be absolved of any responsibility just because folk like the cut of his jib, otherwise Fox and Ross should be afforded the same courtesy. Yes the players are a ****ing disgrace to the shirt, but he's got absolutely no reaction from them at all so I fail to see how he's the answer. He can go with the rest of the shyte for me.

It's hard to get a reaction from the players when individual errors are kicking the guts out of the other players . You start the game with a positive mindset then our young loanee thinks he's Baresi....0-1....then you try to get back into the game and our Finnish International (lol) royally fks up a 5 yard pass...0-2....I was gone after 70 minutes so don't know how the 3rd goal went but it must be absolutely galling for those players to react after those instances.

I honestly don't think it's a lack of a reaction or even effort. The players and especially the goalkeeper are just not good enough.

Yeah, that's a great summary for me. The third goal we just got caught in the break, was always likely to happen given the circumstances.

I thought it interesting JG made a point of talking with Newman at the end of the game. In my view he played pretty well and wasn't fault for any of the goals. Bet he was wishing he put him in earlier in his tenure now. 🤔

I don’t absolve JG of any responsibility. I’m disappointed he couldn’t get more out of the players.

However the problem lies within the set of players.

3 managers now have tried to get a tune out of them and they are completely gutless

JG not perfect but he is the best that is available

Let him mould a hungry team in his image and let’s see where it takes us next season

im split on it, i wasnt bothered when he left because Shankland did pretty much get us promoted single handidly. Playing 2 defensive mids at home against teams at the bottom of the championship was unbearable at times BUT you cant take away from the fact he has went in to basket cases, turned them round and got them promoted and thats what we need

If we get either Goodwin or Neilson im okay with it
