Thread: Jim Goodwin.

I never really understood the logic of not having Butcher back. I've worked with loads of folk over the years that have had affairs and not a single once have I given a ****, worried I'd be on the recieving end next. It's a weird one.

Anyway the point is, I'd have him back in a second, again. 🙂 He is exactly the type of player we've been sorely lacking since he left. Sorry Whitfield but it's true. 🤪

I'd have him back too, doubt he'd come though.

He had an affair with the girlfriend of an active teammate. His leaving was the right decision, not replacing him has been the problem.

Finding players with limited ability but willing to put their foot in is not hard in Scottish football, it's the ones with more talent that are harder to come by. We chose to sign someone with neither by chasing as a priority a talentless player with no bottle and putting him on the wages of 2 players with Ian Harkes

I'd have Butcher back and get rid of everyone else

We need the type of player people think Butcher is. Ironically his best period was probably towards the end when he was playing at the back.

Could have done with him the last few games then no?

Playing at the back possibly but doubtful in midfield. He also played in a team that had a keeper who made saves and didn't mess things up on a regular basis so I am not sure even at the back he wouldn't have fallen prey to same confidence sapping mistakes the other have.

Actually, I think Butcher would have kicked phuck out of popadom by now. 😂

I’d be surprised if a lot of the squad hadn’t have had affairs…..a lot of footballers are at it. But your analogy is pretty rubbish. He was pumping his team-mates mrs!

If you worked in a smallish office and one colleague was pumping another’s wife the place would be a toxic mess.

Getting rid of butcher was 100% correct…..not replacing him was the mistake. (That along with about 20 other recruitment mistakes!)
