Just a thought.....of all those names that have swirled around since the end of the season, Gerrard is the only one who has played in the MLS, for LA Galaxy, 2015-16. Surely we couldn't be about to repeat the mistake of appointing someone who's chief qualification for the job of head coach is that some folks over the pond might recognise his name? Even the 49-ers wouldn't be THAT stupid, would they?

Not sure who the ‘they’ you are speaking of is. Marsch was an Orta/Radz production and no evidence of what the 49ers were or were not thinking.

The only thing disclosed about this season is that the 49ers stopped the Jack H transfer which seemed a sensible thing to do.

If it is Gerrard then they are going for the name rather than someone who knows something about the raw challenge of the championship...but hey ho what do I know.

Ok, I'll bite......The only "they" I referred to in my post was specifically the 49-ers (read it again and you'll see that's the case). Marsch was introduced as a result of the 49-rs wanting a name that would be recognised by stateside viewers, as was the sweep of ex-Red Bull players who were previously coached by the W4nk, who have subsequent done next to f00k all to assist us in avoiding relegation. Orta and Radrizzani were too weak and willing to try and please our "new" owners to suggest that neither coach nor the raft of American, Red-bull and/or combination of those weren't equal to the challenges of the PL (as has been demonstrated).

Within hours of their acquisition of the remainder of the LUFC shareholding, we are seeing rumours of Gerrard being our new head coach, despite having no record of note in managing a club in the face of such challenges as LUFC face. What is the justification for such an appointment if it was to transpire, in comparison to others rumoured to be "in the mix"? He played in the MLS, and errrrr. nothing else!

Not sure where you get the idea JM was the 49ers it was all Orta - he had identified him two years before as a possible replacement and had been speaking to him over that time frame.

Listen to the interviews Radz, Orta and Kinnear have given on the subject in 21/22 and 22/23.

Don’t let that spoil any X files theories though.

Yes that could well be the case. Orta brings in Marsch, and then he is soley responsible for hauling in the four Yankee players. Then looks to all that it has the 49ers fingerprints all over it.

I wouldn't bother, none are so blind as those who will not see.

We are supposed to believe anything that emanates from any of the orifices belonging to the three stooges? (And we were considering the W4nk as a replacement for Bielsa in our first season back in the OK, yeah right).

Yeah but Orta could well have had a list of probable managers before we nabbed Bielsa...and Marsch could well have been on it.
