No-one, and I mean no-one, could head a ball like Big Tone.
I was 20 (eleven years into my NCFC life sentence!) and was lucky enough to be back in Nottm on leave. Behind the goal at the Lane End, what a thrill it was (had lots of thrills in them days!!)

My dad was only 4 months old, nevermind me. I'd always been pretty annoyed to have been born when I was as a notts fan, but last season actually gave me a little bit of hope that I might actually see us return to the heights that some of you lot saw us at previously.

I was a fresh faced 14 year old, first season let loose without Dad or older brother. First season I regularly went to away games. Made new friends in the Lane End with the same group I still sit with at games. That's what you call friends for life!

That's why it was so nice to see Notts win at Wembley, the younger fans have had very little to cheer since 2009-10.

I'm getting on a bit my memory not all that... Was that the game he was substituted, he wasn't a happy chappie...He took his shirt off and threw it into the dug-out and stormed off down the tunnel..

I timed it all pretty well , getting in all the Wembley visits in the late 80s and up to the mid 90s, and all at a great age as a football fan.

That was a later " night match", it took a little time to get into his stride, but then it all took off.
