    Grew up in Stourport, my parents well into their 80’s still live there, started to decline in the early 2000’s but is slowly coming back with quite a good music scene, good mate of mine owns the wharf a venue at the canal basin with great live bands every Friday and Saturday.
    Carnival was always the highlight of the year as a kid at which time the funfair was expanded to cover the entire meadow, lost my sea scouts hat in the river during one years river carnival poor fella in the support boat thought one of us had gone in!

    Problem there is North of the tunnel, the old trackbed has been buit on - Houses and the golf course

    Yes SVR was thinking of reopening the tunnel but the private land beyond is the stumbling block.
    Can't see it happening anytime soon either as SVR are struggling financially. The freak storms and Covid caused a lot of damage.
