Re the Test Match itself ---catches win matches!
Come on BT, get up to speed. The Aussies won the one and only Ladies Test Match a couple of days ago. They are playing for The Ashes, however, it is a cumulative points total and the Aussies have 4 points for winning the Test and there are now 6 one day/limited overs matches to play with 2 points for a win in each match. The Aussies are the holders and are in pole position.
Kevin Pietersen and Ricky Ponting telling it exactly as it is during the tea interval. These two sessions have been a reality check for the English team and the Aussies are doing exactly as I said they would at the end of the first Test.
One up in the series and their objective will be to bat England into oblivion -----so far they are succeeding. Do we have a Plan B?
Joe Root got us out of jail a bit at the end, but this game has gone beyond recall, Oz are still on for 450-500 and they won't be declaring. as Pieterson said, this England team need a kick up the backside, the aussies look like they want to play, we look like we're just going through the motions. Innings defeat on the cards I reckon.
I don't suppose you can criticise Stokes for putting them in, Cummings said he would have done the same, but it does remind me of a tale my old dad used to tell. Len Hutton, after winning the toss and batting for the ump****th time, was asked if he ever thought of putting the opposition in, 'Of course', said Len, 'I always think about putting the opposition in, then I decide we'll bat'.
Day 2. Overcast skies. Perfect for our seam bowlers or just more haymaking from our antipodean visitors?
Interesting day so far with us having bowled much better this morning and finally dismissing the Aussies for 416, the last 7 wickets falling for 100 runs.
We have made a decent start and are scoring at 5 runs per over. Can we continue from our good start of 80 for 0?
