Word coming from Germany is VK intends to play him at left back.

At least that makes some sense, and presumably means we've given up on Maatsen.

Loan moves make no sense to me. They give us very little in return. Sure if we think by staying up we’ll have the money next year to buy quality players, that’s fine. But that’s not realistic. We need to sign young talent we can develop. At least one in each position.

That will be the day! Young talent that we can develop! It will take another miracle from VK and a massive change in the academy if we are to be so lucky.

I’m not talking about 14-16 year old lads. I’m talking about 19-22 who we can spend a year getting game time and getting ready to step in. We have to develop if we are going to survive with no big investments. Every player we can sell, we need to have his replacement in the house ready to take over. If we need to buy a replacement we’re not going to be able to afford to stay in the PL.
I didn’t understand why VK kept on playing loan players at the end of last season when we knew we would bounce back. For me that was the time to give younger players time to deal with the championship before being asked to survive in the PL. I guess breaking records was a higher priority.

Well the four on loan he used all the time was THB, Bayer, Maatsen and Tella. Four out of eleven is quite a lot. You know the squad Sinkov, but OK, here I go At the back he didn’t play McNally and CJ, and decided to loan them out in January while adding two new CB in Ekdal and Al Dakhil. I have no problem with that. He didn’t think they were quite ready and gave them the opportunity to get more experience elsewhere. McNally seemed to do really well in Coventry though and hopefully will get more time this season. But he stuck to THB and Bayer for too long in my opinion. We were comfortable in defence and could have given our own players more time. THB had to be injured before the two new lads got a chance. Vitinho played left back at times for Maatsen but was mainly a benchwarmer.

Something happened to Twine, so maybe he needed to be eased into it, but I would have liked to have seen more of him as well. For him to cope in the PL this year is a big ask.
Costello were given some time in the beginning of the season but was then loaned out. Didn’t get much game time though. Churlinov is another young player that was brought in and was sat on the bench most season. If he was not good enough for us in the championship will he make it in the PL? Foster got some game time, but still needs more imo.
    Did I miss any?

He clearly didn't think McNally and CJ weren't good enough as he loaned them out, Twine missed the first half of the season injured but was turning out more regularly for us later on. Costelloe was loaned out to Bradford where he was little short of a disaster, and was dropped. To play Churlinov we'd have to drop Zaroury, that wasn't going to happen. Foster looked out of his depth, he was lucky to get as many minutes as he did imo.

I've looked at appearances on the squad list for last season Will and I can't see anyone, except possibly Twine, who might have played a bit more.
