Just seen on Sky we are in advanced talks to sign the England U-21goalie. Seems a lot of money.
What about signing midfielders or forwards ?
Obviously VK knows plenty that we don’t.
I’m lost.
So am I , if it’s any consolation. I suspect we are not the only ones, BT. This has to be one of the most confusing pre seasons’ on record.
I must now assume Muric is on his way out?
Well from a source close to City I am told he is brilliant with his feet as he is a midfielder turned goalkeeper he is highly rated. Hope this works out and he is one of a number with good expectations
£15 million up front, £4 million in add ons, I would think the payments will be staged as well, so not quite so onerous. Any road this lad is a future England No 1, a good season in the PL and he'll be a license to print money next summer.
I think that’s the truth of it Sinkov - yes he’s brilliant and one for the future but it’s the money side that’s getting this deal done - I believe there is a clause for a buy back for City so first dibs to them if he excels going forward.
But reality is we’re getting a top keeper and financially he’s an investment/ nest egg.
I think I am right in saying that VK has said that the intention is to identify young talent, develop the player and then sell for profit. That would fit a business model of generating profits and the value of the club as a business. It would also fit with limited resources - prices are lower unless the player has been identified as some kind of wunderkind.
In all that success on the pitch has to be a priority. I would not want the club to be a “churn em and burn em” club, but two or three new faces in the club each season, with hopefully an improvement in quality, would be real progress in establishing ourselves, whilst being a financially stable club.
The Isle of Man Post claims this morning THB might be having another season on loan at Turf Moor. I see no logic in that.
